Day 1: Kigali Arrive & Transferred to your hotel

Meet our representative on landing at Kigali International Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. Rwanda is also known as the land of a thousand hills and you will soon come to know the reason behind this. You are free for the rest of the day after checking into your hotel.

2

Day 2: Kigali Rwanda-Nyungwe National Park

Enjoy your buffet breakfast early in the morning and check out of the hotel. Leave Kigali behind and head for Rwanda’s western province. En route, we will stop at the Royal King’s Palace Museum where you will get the chance to learn more about the history and traditions of Rwandans.

Have your lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 70-metre-tall, suspended metallic bridge offers a great overview of the Nyungwe forest. If you are lucky, you might even spot one or two primates during the canopy walk. Return to your accommodation later for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Waterfall

Leave your hotel in the morning to discover Nyungwe, home to 13 primate species. Transfer to the park for briefing before you are off to tracking chimpanzees. You have one hour to find them and observe these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. You are free for the rest of the day after the activity is over..

4

Day 4: Nyungwe-Musanze

Wake up early to catch a beautiful sunrise over Lake Kivu. Take a boat to explore the lake and go out on a nature walk on one of the islands in this lake that is home to thousands of the bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise as it hosts a number of bird species.

Later, drive off to Musanze, which lies three hours away from Nyungwe. Since no lodges are allowed inside the national park, Musanze has become a hub for travelers heading for Volcanoes National Park.

5

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking & Canoe Ride

Enjoy your early morning breakfast before a safari driver-guide picks you up. Then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and start off your golden monkey trekking. This experience is similar to the gorilla trekking experience, although it is not as hectic as the latter.

Enjoy a canoe ride in the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo in the afternoon and see numerous bird species as well as great views of a volcanic chain.

6

Day 6: Volcanoes-Bwindi National Park

Leave Volcanoes National Park behind in the morning and head for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Cyanika border. Check into your accommodation on arrival and enjoy a late lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day’s trekking.

7

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Experience Bwindi Np

Enjoy a cup of coffee early in the morning and head for a briefing at the park headquarters. Thereafter, enter the jungle in search of shy mountain gorillas. On finding your assigned group, observe their activities in their real home.

You can see these great apes from up close for a whole hour and take pictures. This gorilla safari requires a reasonable degree of fitness. Make sure that you have decent walking shoes and do not forget to carry packed food, mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and a hat.

This activity can take either a half day or a whole day depending on the location of these primates. Return to your lodge for lunch. You can spend the evening relaxing and going through the photos you have taken.

Day 8: Bwindi Np-Kigali Rwanda & Departure

Have your breakfast while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Then check out of the lodge and drive back to Kigali via the Gatuna border. We will stop by at a restaurant in Kigali for lunch. In case you have enough time, we will take you around the city before transferring you to the airport for your departure flight.
